Superior car this season? Check. Handful of wins? Check. Within arm’s reach of the lead in points. Check again. Amid fireworks of all kinds at the end of the race, Denny Hamlin calmly crossed the finish line to win the Gillette Fusion ProGlide 500 at Pocono. He has clearly shown dominance at Pocono, as it is his fourth win in nine starts there.

All in all, it has been a pretty nice week for Kurt Busch. Last week, he held off the field to win the Sprint All-Star Race (and the million dollars that goes with it), and Sunday evening, he finished nearly a second ahead of Jamie McMurray to win the Coca-Cola 600. This was Busch’s second win of the season, and it moved him from ninth to sixth in the Sprint Cup points standings.

After winning the Nationwide Series race on Saturday, Kyle Busch won by seven seconds over second place finisher Jeff Burton.

Denny Hamlin, one of the three most dominant cars the entire race, led 104 of the 367 laps, and was the only one of the three who was mistake-free in late pit stops, which sealed the win for him.

Starting from the pole and leading more than half the race does not always guarantee a win in NASCAR. However, combined with a surge to the front on a restart with five laps left allowed Kyle Busch to hold off Jeff Gordon for the win in the Crown Royal 400 at Richmond International Raceway.

Denny Hamlin did not let a little rain get him down. He also did not allow his surgically repaired knee or hard-charging Jimmie Johnson keep him from victory lane either.
